Mmmmmm….I love horseradish! But if it’s something I don’t care for, like ketchup or pickle relish, I might not notice we’re running low. However, if my family mentions that we need it, I’ll certainly pick it up when I’m shopping.

That woman’s a pill.

For any children or adults of a certain age out there, I’ll be reading my children’s book “The Parents of Flannery McKracken” tomorrow, May 11 at the Barnes & Noble in Northville, MI. It’s that book in the ad to the right.

In our family, we parcel out jobs. One person is primarily responsible for shopping, so it would be incumbent upon that person to buy things even if they don’t personally eat it, just as it’s the job of the person who does laundry to wash clothes even if they aren’t their’s. Of course, if I want something purchased, it’s up to me to make it known.

Since I do the shopping, and SHE does the cooking, there is no failure to communicate in our house.

TheWildSow and cdward – if she does the shopping, do you suppose he bothered to let her know that he wanted her to pick up more horseradish sauce?

In our household, there are several things that only one person uses, and it is always up to that person to make sure that such things get on the grocery list when supplies are low or gone.

That women’s not a pill, that man’s a sexist jerk with his brain stuck in the 1950s.

Like Ozzy, I try to hang around the house and pretend i have a job somewhere out there bringing me in loads of cash to pay for the great house and other nice stuff. Not working out nearly as good for me.

In our house, I cut coupons and she forgets them. She puts stuff on the list I don’t read. Then, while I’m wandering the aisles, she phones to ask for something they don’t carry yet at Meijer’s or WalMart and I get to go to the other one to find it. We’d communicate more, but, being I’m trying for a government job, why change the system?
