Bushmiller slipped up a little, if those lines coming from the mouthpiece represent sound coming out of the phone.
(Note how far dogs have evolved, from naîvely picking up a handset by mistake to Marmaduke, who routinely orders things over the phone despite never being seen speaking. I haven’t looked in a while, but I imagine he orders things online now.)
