I remember something similar from my now very distant youth (I have all my Andy Capp books from then), where Flo says his bad hip is playing up and it comes from pocketing all the wet change at the pub!

Is Andy lucky, or not, that the doctor was not the type who thinks he can cure your back pain by walking barefoot on your back.

I sometimes get a bad back but not very often. I get painful twinges at the bottom of my spine. It’s probably all in my head as well as being my own fault.
