Maybe the Fox “news” viewers on these boards can explain the objectives of the Cuba embargo and identify some example(s) of its effectiveness. -And then I’ll make a $5 contribution to the Marco Polio for President Fund.

Payne is as usual, quite wrong here, even some of the ultra conservatives here know that president Obama can not lift the embargo on Cuba, that will take an act of Congress itself. All he has done is to re establish diolomatic relations with that country. And as we already have not only such relations with many other so called Communist countries, and Cuba does have a great deal of influence upon many other South American countries then it is to the benefit of the security of the USA to have such diplomatice relations with Cuba.

To bad we can’t seem to get a Congress that actually works at solving real problems that affect middle class America. With the performance they have turned in over the last six years they should all be retired or fired.

Horrors. He watches TV? Most presidents NEVER watched TV when they were in office. I know that Millard Fillmore never even turned the TV on, let alone wasted time watching. He should aspire to better.

That was Harry Reid. He did not allow any bills out of the House to reach the Senate.

Congress adjourned of it’s own accord after passing “lame duck” legislation, mostly benefiting the rich and powerful. Obama doesn’t get to dictate anything to Congress. All he can do is veto stuff, which then Congress can override.

An economic embargo on Congress makes sense. No point giving them money to accomplish nothing. Let them see how it works for the Little People: no work, no salary. Would be interesting to see their reaction.

The righties just keep rattling the chains on Joe McCarthy’s ghost, our “Cuba policy” was dead in the water from the start.

What about the first two years that dems controlled both houses of congress that gave us healthcare but punted immigration

wouldn’t it be interesting if henry gets paid by the number of comments and is kept in circulation because of those same comments? all the people that get so outraged and upset at henry’s cartoons and have to comment to show everyone how much they know and then all the back and forth comments would make henry laugh his head off all the way to the bank. and i must admit it gives me a giggle or two at times – the comments many times more than the cartoon itself :)

Well, look at the bright side. Mr. O can now smoke those really good Cuban cigars instead of the smelly old Russian cigars that Putin keeps sending.
