Yes, these Sunday morning quarterbacks are free to shoot off their mouths. The media needs them to fill the time. It has nothing to do with skill or wisdom. Just enough hot air to melt the arctic ice caps.

Since Viet Nam, the “talking heads” should have been made to serve before they could “opine.” I agree that this “war talk” is a great way to distract the public from the elections. Voting should be MANDATORY.

Mercenaries did so much good for the American cause in Iraq that they had to change their name from Blackwater to Xi so that they could keep working their against the Iraqi’s demands. You want to know why they hate us? Look at the people in the cartoon. That’s why.

Put simply, has there ever been so much hot air constantly billowed out in public? It used to be that armchair patriots were private citizens that stayed at home and only irritated their families, or bloviated at the loca veterans organizations. Or as politicians traditionally did at election time..Now anybody with a fast mouth and the urge to make a reputation has a show that reaches thousands, even millions of people..Would that there was a Twilight Zone power to put the opinions of each of the blather-mouths to the test in their own alternate universes.

@emptc12The “To Serve Man” Twilight Zone alternate universe would be an excellent place to send the hot air buffoons!

Over the weekend, the memorial for “Veterans Permanently Disabled in War” was dedicated in D. C.. To little note in the news actually. Maybe I’m sensitive because both my son and I are recognized by that memorial, as well as many, many of our friends.

The chickenhawks on the wall in the ‘toon of course have never served, or taken any chances by serving the nation. The REAL cost of their support for wars by Bush (Dad and Jr) is not only going to run into the multiple trillions of dollars, but lifetimes of disability for millions of vets, many with “hidden disabilities” that can’t be noted by a wheelchair or prosthetic device.

Which as a member and supporter of DAV, I often have problems with the positions taken by the VFW even though they do serve well many veterans, like with transportation for instance. The “American Legion” however is another matter, their membership, based on postions, seems to be made up largely of chickenhawks who indeed may have been in the military, but never in harm’s way, and it shows.

“Not like Obama knows what his real generals want. Obama spent 2012 declaring the war was won, over, no body else needs to do a thing, ben la la dead and gm unions alive, we won, and now? 2014, two short later wellllllll, Obama turned on the tv and someone told him some truth of how bad it is over there where man made bad things happen. And well the void that was left from his bug out has been filled with the worse of the radical worse, just like GW Bush said it would happen. You know the guy who did listen to his generals.”-Yeah, I am not one of those people who feel that only the military is qualified to have opinions about the use of force, but by ignoring the advice of the Pentagon President Obama is more of a armchair general than most of the commentators whom Mr. Wuerkler mocks.

^Obama was suppposed to be there, the report I saw showed some of the memorial and focused on a couple vets who appear in the memorial, but they didn’t say much about who showed up for the ceremony.
