@human: first, it’s a comic! Second, one could have 7 total bypasses if their previous ones get blocked (eg, quadruple bypass, then 3 of 4 are subsequently block and replaced, hence 7 bypasses).

It was Obama who suggested a woman take a pill instead of get an operation, since that would have cost too much money.

I want health care reform to succeed, but I hope both parties can negotiate a reasonable compromise.

SENOR – For some people believing the truth is impossible.

CHROMO - You’re hope will die, it takes two to compromise, and the GOP has shown it has no plans to compromise, all it wants to do is win in November, so things need to be a mess so that people will be frustrated and angry and vote out of anger.

Hmm, they DO say that the best and only allowable birth control is an aspirin held between the knees.

so, will the health insurance grants be passed? will they continue to have “death-panels” and be rewarded for hiring Dr.s to find ways to NOT cover people? This entire bill is NOT health care, it IS a pay off to the insurance/drug companies, yet another waste of taxpayers monies. It is NOT reform, nor the “SAME health policy we have in the US Congress” as promised by Obama.

Update on Danny Williams, the premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, who went to the US to get heart surgery. I’m not an MD, so this is subject to correction, but it’s what I have found so far. (1) Surgical treatment of mitral valve regurgitation is widely available in Canada. (2) I believe (though I’m not entirely sure) that the specific procedure Williams received is performed by a surgeon in London, Ontario. (3) The main benefit of this procedure over the more widely used procedure seems to be cosmetic.

Well said, Radish. Who do you want to make that decision for you and yours? It is likely an actuary nor a bureaucrat is not in your top 10 choices.

Nice idea fennec, but what if that choice is taken from you and decided by the gov. with only the bottom line in mind. That means no painkillers no nothin if its not cost effective.
