Alix: You got an email from Gramma? Val: "Hi, all! We saw ELEPHANTS today... Val: They came to a water hole in family groups. Each family waited for the one ahead of it to finish... Val: It was so SWEET...and made me miss you all...so I'm COMING HOME." Alix: Thank you, elephants.

Elephant. The plural of elephant is elephant,

First of all, these are cartoon characters, second, how these characters’ lives play out is at the whim of the artist. Granted these character reflect real people and as a real person (or so I hope) I say who cares about Evie and Arnold’s relationship, it’s none of our business. Just like I don’t care when some famous person gets caught cheating or doing something stupid. I love Alix’s character, a young mind open to the world around her, hopefully she’ll be a fantastic influence on Max and Luci, which in turn will inspire kids that read this strip.

Funny. “I saw elephants and thought of you guys”. Nice family. It could have been jackals! hahaha

I thought the Stones had 2 bathrooms since Evy won the lottery….Oh Jan, if you do read this, why can’t I buy a book of the cartoons from ’98??? I want them all, I am an old school book-person and would rather buy them to peruse at hand than look them up on line.Yes, I have ordered the new book ;p

I feel that at our senior age we can have commitment without all that fal-de-rol. I was in a LDR for almost 30 years before this, but finally decided to find someone local (and I was very lucky at that, last December). I was identifying with Evie as I traveled to stay with my lover, but I’m much happier with one who is with me various times a week, and although the other is still a friend of mine and my kids, and his kids are FB friends of mine, I have no romantic feelings for him anymore.

Phil has asked Val several times but she is afraid to commit herself.

When she saw the ring at Christmas, she should have asked if he was proposing. If there was no proposal, she just has a nice ring.

@dawnsfire, “If they’re happy, then the situation is fine.”
Which is of course the point!
