Try taking off your flip-flops, Phoebe. I tried playing in ’em when I was younger too and found it difficult to keep good traction, especially on a smooth floor. Bare feet (best results) or a pair of tennis or athletic shoes should improve your game a bit. The rest pretty much comes down to talent and practice.
