Miss Plainwell knows how to talk to her students, giving the answer to the question and the supporting facts(Joshua Tree National Park in California.) while Frazz is making their dates simple but impressive(see captioned sentence above.)

Joshua Tree – After getting a lovely and remote shaded campsite all set up a few decades ago, I discovered I did have a neighbor, a large sidewinder emerging from his den for his evening stroll. I really did not want to pack up and move, so I slept in my car instead of under the stars.

I doubt that a teacher would answer that question.

My grandparents lived in Yucca Valley which is near Joshua Tree. I couldn’t appreciate it as a kid. All I could see was a bunch of rocks and some scrawny trees. But Grandpa found some amazing gems and rocks out in that desert. Happy Saturday all.

“Midnight at the Oasis” – If you’ve been to Joshua Tree, you know what I mean.

“Miss Plainwell, you and Frazz may be the most smug, self-important, and annoying couple ever.”

Cool! I live about five miles North of Joshua Tree Park, in Twentynine Palms. Five miles North of me is the 29 Palms Marine Air Ground Combat Training Center, the largest in the country. I often hear the artillery practice, and sometimes it rattles my windows. The temperature in December can get down to a chilly forty degrees, and we even get a dusting of snow most years that melts within minutes. I know that isn’t cold to all you Michigan folks, but it feels chilly compared to the rest of the year. Summer is a “dry heat,” but 118 degrees is hot! The nights in late summer usually are 90 degrees or warmer. Pure hell for trying to grow vegetables and flowers.
