I just love this strip more every day. Especially since, in the early days, before Nancy entered her life, Aunt Fritzi’s primary preoccupation was coming up with plans for snagging a rich husband. I wonder if any of the strips being planned to revisit some of Nancy’s history will deal with any aspects of Aunt Fritzi’s life BEFORE Nancy became a part of her life?

Hope not, the strip is beautiful and loving the way it is now. I think its one of the best strips ever written. I come each day since here since that cheap, good for nothing newspaper took Nancy out. Btw, I no longer buy that unnamed paper anymore out of protest. Thank you for this strip.

Guy, you never cease to amaze me. You take this strip and Fritzi to a level of emotional connection that I don’t ever recall from the old days.

It seems God is too busy paying attention to Fritz’s prayers. Maybe He should listen around the world.

I can remember when our local newspaper still included Nancy in their list of comics. I am probably dating myself here – but I can remember when a big plus to the Sunday comics were Aunt Fritzi paper dolls. Since our folks were not into buying two Sunday newspapers, my sister and I had to take turns getting the Aunt Fritzi paper dolls every Sunday. We would cut the paper doll out of the newspaper and glue her onto some cardboard. Then we would cut out whatever fashions were printed in the newspaper and pin them onto Aunt Fritzi’s paper doll. In those days, Aunt Fritzi went to some pretty elegant parties and was always dressed in the latest fashions. There were also Aunt Fritzi comic books which included a page of paper dolls with some of Aunt Fritzi’s elegant outfits, which she wore to those elegant parties. Our so-called local newspaper (The Rocky Mountain News) dropped all of their “REAL” comics, then finally gave up and went out of business altogether. The general opinion in our family is that if the Rocky Mountain News had continued publishing the REAL comics, they would still be in business. We always figured that the Comics were the ONE thing which newspapers could provide to consumers which other media sources could not really provide. You could get your news and weather reports from other sources – but not the comics. Nancy just becomes more beautiful every day, providing the high spot of our day – every day!
