    I don’t know… With the right combination of fruits like tart apples and sweet pears, you could make that kind of fruitcake work. Oh, and pouring a whole bottle of tequila over it wouldn’t hurt either…

    sounds like some tamales I have seen. In El salvador, they threw a whole chicken leg in one.

    @Merrymarg You’re right of course. But to do a fruitcake right, you have to start two weeks before Christmas and keep the cake well moisten in brandy till you serve it!

    actually it sounds pretty good to me and a spicy improvement on some of the plain fruitcakes i’ve been subjected to over the years. but that’s just me

    OK, y’all may think I’m a little weird, but I’d like to give it a try to see how it tastes. It’s certainly not as strange as some foods I’ve eaten over the years, and it actually sounds like it might be good.
