♫ O say can you see, the National Security Agency ♫
NSA – Alabama through Wyoming have NSA domestic electronic intercept points that are pre-authorized under the Patriot Act and FISA to gather data from all private devices, commercial and institutional telecom routers and satellite relays. They own virtually all of your calls, texts, e-mails (and any other forms of communication they can bug or steal).
NSA Utah – One million sq. ft. digital storage facility outside Salt Lake City is the centerpiece of the NSA’s cloud-based data strategy and focus on decrypting previously un-crackable intercepts.
NSA Colorado – Aerospace Data Facility collects data from 4 geostationary satellites and signals from other spacecraft and overseas listening posts. 850 NSA employees download global intercepts and transmit target information.
NSA Georgia – The 604,000 sq. ft. operations building in Augusta has 4,000 NSA intercept operators and analysts focusing on intercepts from Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Codenamed Sweet Tea.
NSA Texas – San Antonio mega-data center is backup storage for the Utah Data Center and processes intercepts from Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. Recently added 2,000 workers and completed $100 million renovation.
NSA Tennessee – Oak Ridge is now dedicated to building the world’s fastest cryptanalytic supercomputers.
NSA Hawaii – 2,700 employees focus on Eastern hemisphere intercepts from a new 234,000-square-foot facility in Oahu.
NSA Maryland – One billion dollar NSA headquarters complete with its own super-computer and data storage center.
They’ve got it (us) all. I feel so very safe now.
