The cartoon is “to the point”. However, I must point out that V. Putin is NOT ‘angling’ to restore the old Soviet Empire. Vladimir has not shown interest in anything other than the naked accretion of power and the money that goes along with it . Putin is, of course, personally responsible, not ONLY for the Russian disruption of the American 2016 election, but for interfering with the recent French election, interfering with the British elections leading to the U.K. leaving the European Union. He is ALSO responsible for the recent wave of assassinations which have occured in England. It has long been an “article of faith” within the members of the Russian Secret Police, once known as the K.G.B. and now being called the G.R,U. that "traitors to the Motherland must NOT be allowed to live!
Keep in mind, moreover, that, within the context of the government of Russia, the term “traitor” often is used to ‘mark’ people who are only dissenters, a la Leon Trotsky! And, to the present series of “assassinations”, it took Stalin many years to get ‘around’ to having Trotsky killed in Mexico, where he’d been exiled, some years before. Strongmen often are believed to “forgive” (they really don’t), but they NEVER do forget!
