Yes, my in-laws had a couple of trees in San Bernardino, also orange. But not all cultivars turn orange. But it’s different in Florida:
“Florida’s Navel oranges are sweet and juicy enough to harvest in October. But the cold nights they need to degreen usually don’t arrive until mid-December. The only solution is to pick the green fruit and degreen it artificially at processing plants before shipping it to market.”
My understanding was that the color got its name from the fruit. BTW – Some oranges do indeed turn orange as they ripen, but like you said, some don’t.
Don’t worry Frank, they didn’t give me a manual either, and we started with twins. We all make it up as we go along, like everything else about being an adult. I get the feeling that you actually made far more right turns than wrong.
I understand that. It would be an act of atonement for being such a lousy human being, perhaps restoring the honor that he lost somewhere along the way.
And on mine it’s labeled “Enter”. Granted, mine’s an aftermarket mechanical keyboard, not an Apple original. But my iPhone and iPad virtual keyboards do have “return”.
Or any house for that matter.
