   Way to go, Janis! We don’t need every strip having Arlo being all whiny. I know that many do not like change, but they have a great situation in front of them.

   Obviously, it is to each their own. Everyone has their own sense of humor (or lack of one). I, personally, just don’t see how anyone is a fan of Luann being so incredibly dim ALL THE TIME. If you can see the humor in that, good for you and the other similar readers. I’d rather see her develop a bit… well, at all. Look at the last 5+ years. Pretty unsatisfying arcs. We finally get the Brad and Toni baby arc that many of us have been waiting for, and it was done quickly. Hopefully, we see it again. Anyhow, if Karen is taking over the direction of the comic, you’d think she’d do something to invigorate it, wouldn’t you? I mean, even Charlie Brown had more positive moments and he was specifically written as a ‘lovable loser’. I’d just like to see Luann have some of those moments. If that turns off viewers, it makes me sad for those readers.

   And Karen apparently continues to advertise her dislike of Luann, the character (if not the strip). It is bewildering. Why do the comic, if you hate the main character so much? I mean, Luann needs to grow at some point. Making Luann constantly clueless is not endearing.

   This seems fairly out of character for TJ. He likes to goof around and push buttons at times, but it sure doesn’t seem like he would be one to take it on himself to bring up the topic of a personal matter like having a baby. I realize it is for a comic strip, but this would be more something that Luann would do.

   This arc is most certainly dragging, but it will be interesting if Bets is allowed to develop a new/adjusted persona. Karen is not particularly good at character development and growth. With Gunther’s persistence, if maintained, there is a chance that they could have a normal relationship. That would be a refreshing chance.

   Luann was using her phone for navigation in the car. She would have already known there was no cell service.

   It would be different if they had a house-sitter while they were gone, but Bernice has been living with them for 2 years. She is going to know when the dog needs to be let out. I mean, I get the point that they were trying to be funny, but it just once again becomes a lazy effort by G&K.

    Out of curiosity, what would you consider their “superb” work? Are you simply referring to topics? I’ve been reading Luann for a very long time. However, for the last several years, it has been with the SOLE hope that Karen turns the corner and actually shows she cares about the characters and their development. Over the last 8 years, if not longer, what arc has been done that was actually good all the way through without an underwhelming ending, if not being meh the entire time? I’m legitimately curious. Several comics have declined significantly after a change of author. Luann is one of them. Karen has not been good for Luann. Definitely way more bad content than good.
