I’m nearing my mid 70’s and was an escalation tech for Microsoft for awhile, also worked for Intel testing, repairing and training others with motherboards. Have built my own computers, but I am also smart enough to stay off social media. I also hate texting, when I can talk to the person over the same phone I would use to text. Most of us speak faster than we type. Texting is regressive.
I did tech support for Microsoft before Gates moved the operation to India. (We had to train those in India taking our jobs too.) Anyone calling into the help desk had to pay $35 before they could even talk to us. One caller complained that his desktop mouse didn’t work. I asked him to to make sure the mouse was plugged in. He was disappointed in himself for not checking that before spending $35.
So, in other words they’re only around for the money.
