As I recall, the 100 acre wood stories have recently entered the public domain. Which allows artists to use the characters and artwork without threat of legal action.
It is their money and they can donate or not as they wish. I don’t think a school should adopt a model where their existence is dependent on donations. That seems to be a problem as well, when principles are variable depending on the people who give you money. Sounds like politics.
You can teach whatever you want, and there are very few lines of thought that are not taught. The employers of the country are the ones who decide which specific degrees to grant legitimacy. If Harvard Law, for instance, goes too far astray then eventually their graduates will find themselves unable to get the prestigious jobs.
I’m not sure why I care, except in an abstract way. I care about my family, kids, grandkids, etc. I want them to enjoy life. But the level of concern diminishes with subsequent generations that come long after I’m gone. That is for the intervening generations to worry about.
