    Wax on, wax off…

Badly done. Assuming Luann’s folks are in their 50s (but probably younger), all these stars were in their 70s/80s – or dead – when they were Luann’s age. Also, these people belong to entertainment’s history, so it’s more likekly for Luann and Bernie to know them than – let’s say – Richard Gere, Robert Redford or Debra Winger, who were top for my generation (I am in my 50s) . And it’s quite unlikely for someone my age to have never heard of Ariana Grande, especially if you have chldren.

Crystal, Knute, Delta and many other forgotten ones have all been enlisted by Ann Eiffel in her evil plan to destroy the Luanniverse and turn it into Anniverse, but the mysterious Ms. Horner has been secretly preparing for this her whole, long life. Stay tuned for Luanniverse: Ann-ihilation, this summer.

I think the message here is to show that two people sharing one or some interests (comics, sci-fi, etc…) could make them like each other, but that’s non necessarily enough to build a couple. On the contrary, even somebody that does not share your interests but can see the passion and the heart you put in what you do, might be “the right one”. If this is the extent, Greg and co. are doing it quite right.

So they sat there for more than three days, assuming they did their stuff in a bottle… I don’t see anything wrong with that.

Someone suddenly realised Tiff is the most interesting character from this strip!

Again, Luann’s town population: 45. How could it possibly be that she knows BOTH the frontrunners of an open contest while she being the third? Oh, well…

OK, new wave, but I think you got the point.

Tiffany is by lengths becoming the most interesting and well devoleped character of this strip, which is remarkable, looking back at her initial purpose of annoying anatgonist. She has depth, not-trivial developments and adds depth to the characters she mostly interact with (Gunth, Les, Ox and even Luann!) and most of the new characters who fall short of being just clichés (the nerd, the hippie, the evil lady…) only exist beacuse of her. Compared to other established characters as Bernice (who went from good conscience to nutso friend) and others who just faded away, it’s almost a Richie to Fonzie situation…

Exactly my point: you leave a lot to imagination so you don’t get chastised, but yet you can develop the thing later, just in case. Gunther reaction to Quill could mean anything (frustration, guilt, ehm… failure…) but for sure his and Tiff’s conversation did not end after that awkward look they gave each other. I see potential here, and I mean it in a good sense: there is still a lot unsaid between Gunth and Tiff.
