The deer tick is a very small tick. Once attached to a moose they can grow to the size of a large grape over the winter. Our winters have gotten so mild that a moose can have hundreds of thousands on them in spring. The ticks are literally sucking the life right out of them. Diminishing the moose population.
I found another mention of National Cartoonist Day in today’s comics over on Foxtrot by Bill Amend. The dailies are in reruns but new strips on Sundays.

Reminds me of Silent Running. Where there were no more plants on Earth. It wasn’t depicted just mentioned. There were some gardens that had been preserved and sent in to space. These gardens were in big domes as part of a space station. (The model used was seen again in the original Battlestar Galactica series.)
