Before I retired, some of my co-workers worked overtime (and made more than me) and lived paycheck to paycheck. Meanwhile, I was making double and triple mortgage payments/car payments and paid off my debt in 6 years while maxing out my 401k contributions. Then I retired early at 45.
Many Americans live paycheck to paycheck by choice, not because they have to. For some reason they think they have to spend every dime they make living large.
The people with the real TDS are Trump supporters. They don’t recognize the dozen plus former White House staff that tell how bad Trump was, or several presidential historian surveys that rank Trump as the worst president in the last 150 years. Or so many of his actual failures.
But I think Tucker Carlson said it best, “We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There really isn’t an upside to Trump.”
I served in the Navy and transited through the Bermuda Triangle many times. Very boring and disappointing.
