   It might actually gain him some support in some quarters once it’s revealed that Polly’s great grandfather voted for FDR in 1944, not long before losing a leg during the Battle of the Bulge, thus qualifying Snidely Trumplash’s scheme as “owning the libs”.

   I miss being an FAQ on rec.arts.comics. :)

   You see, my real name is the same as a notable comics artist. As an active commenter on comics, I’d often get asked if I was him. (I like to say if I had a dollar for every time I’ve been asked I am him, I could afford to commission a nice drawing from him.) Since this was well before the days of universal internet access, the rule of thumb was that if someone had the same name as a comics writer, it was the writer. But if someone had the same name as a comics artist, it was not the artist. My name was one of the examples given.
