   Star Wars is a swashbuckler set in space – it could easily be set on the high seas, except the space allowed a better set of special effects and had appeal of being novel.

   Star Trek is more a series of stories (soap opera even), where the Sci-Fi often became part of the story.

   You know what – I’d generally watch either if on TV.
