Flashcards are made using index cards, not sheets of paper you then cut up like a coupon. This feature is so lame and junky. Never thinks the punchlines through. It just declares victory because “its meta! They’re interacting with the frame! I’m clever!” even though, as stated, the visual doesn’t actually line up with joke.

“This place is morally bankrupt”. God the dialogue in this feature is so bad. They all sound like chronically online social media junkies and never like actual children. Maybe tomorrow we’ll get an anime reference!

Yeah I got that. Its just not recognizable as a joke or amusing, at all. Its the definition of a tortured joke.

You can tell this is written by bots because the joke makes no sense. Its more accurate to say there is no joke. He didn’t judge the first book by its cover and read all of it and now he is doing the same with the follow-up. Ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaa? This is an embarrassing, shameful excuse for a comic strip. Both this specific entry and “Nu Improved Nancy” in general.

The deep thoughts crap is super embarrassing considering the observations are never actually clever and the non-existent punchlines they always lead to are never funny. This is pretentious garbage for people who like to stroke their chins and pretend “to get” stuff.

Its weird that Adam (at) Home’s daughter looks just like him if he was squatting and wearing a wig.

Considering the comic just took a week off in the middle of a story it means things are either being produced as they’re published, with breaks being taken whether a story is in progress or not or reruns can be run while things are reworked. That and considering comics from this syndicate have been made or considered for paramount plus shows, it just comes off as corporate pandering either way. Which is obnoxious from someone who makes such a big deal about how much they tie “important social commentary!!” to their work.

Going from suggesting children sneak out at night to do dangerous street work to giggling about a brand from a network that was just outed as having serious problems with how they treat and protect their child actors is super gross and tone deaf.

Doesn’t Paramount own Universal or have some kind of stake in it? Big Nate got a show and they were considering Pheobe and her Unicorn until someone reminded them that person also made “Raine Dog” (its on archive dot org look it up! A real Dana Simpson classic about a boy and his dog) Makes name dropping one of its properties super skeezy. There isn’t even a punchline here. It can be argued “what are you talking about? She’s clearly HATE watching it!” but its like, she’s still watching it. Makes all the ill-considered social commentary especially grating when the next day you’re met with content advertisements for the comic’s holding company.

Its like Outland, Calvin & Hobbes, and Mallard Fillmore were put into a blender and then poured into a toilet.
