I am a designer, actor and artist living in Chicago. I am winner of the Joseph Jefferson Award for Scenic Design (Chicago version of the Tonys) and have received multiple nominations. When there is nothing else to talk about, no action, no plot movement…all that is left is to find fault with whatever little remains…usually how this strip deviates from reality. It is not and never was intended to be realistic. It is a fiction which takes place in a fictional universe—like a James Bond film, where realism should not be an issue…and it wouldn’t be if there was pace and action in the actual story.
If a joke has to be dissected because it didn’t seem realistic enough (what jokes are?) then it was really never that funny in the first place.
