Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews. Both were Green Bay Packers at the time this strip first appeared; Rodgers was the quarterback, Matthews was a linebacker. Matthews is retired now, while Rodgers now plays for the Jets. The artist is a Green Bay Packer fan. She would often put cameos of famous people as well as comic and manga characters in some of her strips.

I thought we established that Roy and Sedine were first cousins, so Gabby wouldn’t be Sedine’s niece, but her cousin (and I’d have to look up how 2nd cousins vs. 1st cousin once removed works, since I’m unsure of all that).

I can tell you from personal experience that black walnut trees will literally grow like weeds, given good (not even ideal!) soil conditions. I’ve seen them grow to 30 feet within ten years on my own property. And all it takes is one tree on your property or close to it to start a small forest if left unchecked, because squirrels don’t remember where they bury many of their nuts.

Well, kind of negative, depending on the circumstance: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LampshadeHanging
