THAT’S where I saw Gary Oldman before! I know Sirius Black looked familiar, but couldn’t place the face.

    Wonderful movie!

That was where I first learned ofThe Question Game.

I don’t recall what the actual dialog was but this is an example of The Question Game:

    “What’s the question game?”

    “You’ve never heard of it?”

    “Why should I have?”

“Were you raised under a rock?”

And on and on until one person can’t answer with a question. It’s fun to play spontaneously with someone else who knows of it when you are with a group of people who don’t know of it. It’s fun to respond to a question with a question and see if the other person ‘gets it’ and responds in kind. (It can drive spouses batty when they are bystanders)

For once, Oldie, you are right (or nearly so). It IS the %$#! state legislators who are enacting draconian abortion laws. <P>However (you knew there'd be a 'however' didn't you?), it was the %$#! US Congress that approved the conservative people who made the (erroneous in my opinion) ruling that struck down Roe v Wade.

I would think that even true conservatives could see what their various state legislators are willing to do to send the country back to the 1890s and start to wonder when such backwards thinking will start impacting them. It will eventually you know – unless you are very rich, white, and male —maybe (just be sure you don’t somehow cross the powers-that-will-be)

That would be my Tuxie Sisters. If the sun is up Mom should be too. Thank heavens for Daylight Saving Time and being on the far west side of the Eastern time zone.

As for “supper time” clocks and sun make no difference to them, if Mom is bustling around in the kitchen, it must be nearly supper time. This is a problem when I’m making something like Stuffed Shells or Scalloped Potatoes that need to be started more than 2 hours before human supper time.

I like it as a liberal nondenominational raised semi-Baptist Protestant.

Even at 39 older adults were still treating me as like a kid. Now I’m 74 and some “older” folks still treat me like a kid – oddly enough many of those people are actually younger than I am. But the interesting part of still being treated as a kid is that, at 74, I don’t mind it.

30s are as overrated at 20s. 50s and 69s are better. 70s aren’t bad either (except for failing eyesight, wonky knees, and young whippersnappers who mumble so you can’t understand a word they’re saying.)

I keep a hefty reserve of things I don’t dare run out of (Catsup, caffeinated and non caffeinated sugar-free beverages, keto-friendly snacks for my IT Guy (resident adult son). Peanut butter, coffee, and A-1 sauce for Hubbie. Treats, kibble, & wet food (and cat litter) for the Tuxie Sisters. Eggs, Red Rose brand tea, and Coca-Cola for me. I sometimes have to go shopping when I’d rather not for things like milk, bread, and something (anything) to make for supper. Yesterday I had to make a quick run to town (about 5 miles) to get ricotta to make stuffed shells for supper. I picked up ‘just’ a few other things “while I was in town” and ended up spending $32 at Aldi and $109 at Meijer. (And I managed to forget hot dog buns – oh well, I need to go to Walmart today anyway. We are getting low on milk.)

I vaguely remember this time. I remember complaining about the price of eggs. (I’d just started living on my own and buying groceries for the first time) About 15 or so years later, the price of eggs jumped again. By that time I was feeding a spouse and 2 little kids. I complained to my Mom. She pointed out that even if eggs were twice as expensive, they were still the best, cheapest source of quality protein. I had to remind myself of this when the price of eggs went through the roof during the pandemic.
