It’s not the circumstances of your life that determine your happiness, but your attitude towards them.
Some friends had a late-life son with Down Syndrome. Three quarters of the time, he doesn’t understand what’s going on around him. His chances of holding even a minimum wage job are poor – there are things he can do, but a robot can do them too, and with less supervision. His life expectancy is short, but he’ll probably outlive his parents, and he needs someone to take care of him.
He has no future. He was condemned by birth to a miserable limited life – but he is happy!
I never liked his music, and do not recall that song. OTOH, the theme song to Mash was “Suicide is painless”, and it was beamed into every one’s living room for years.
But he’s carrying a hoe. I can’t imagine any way a hoe would be useful in collecting firewood, but I’ve used both hoes and axes, and that is not an axe.
Could Diston be so privileged he never learned the difference?
That depends on the players. It’s possible to make pretty good music on the pipes. OTOH, you might be a Scotsman like some of my ancestors and play the pipes to make English invaders drop their weapons and cover their ears!
Mussolini and Hitler both took over a socialist party, and they never changed the collectivism. The change was that they didn’t lie as much about their real goals, unlike all those socialist and communist movements that talk about equality, prosperity, and freedom, then end up with a nomenklatura lording it over an impoverished population, with an army of thugs to throw everyone who complains in a concentration camp.
“Antifa” is a lie. They use the same methods as Mussolini’s Blackshirts and Hitler’s Brownshirts. They are fascist in action, not anti-fascists. The one thing I won’t accuse them of is copying the Blackshirts – instead, Mussolini copied violent Communist mobs, and Antifa inherited that tradition a bit more directly.
About as long as the fancy ones.
