The operative word there is “WERE”. Once democrats passed the Civil Rights Act all the racists defected to the republican party.

Just because the last 10 months are the hottest ever recorded hasn’t effected me at all. What keeps me up at night is the theory that once we destabilize the methane calthrate deposits in the arctic, global temperatures could skyrocket, and agriculture would collapse (civilization as we’ve known it soon after). Could happen tomorrow (Northern Atlantic water temperatures are off the chart), could happen 100 years from now, who knows. Maybe we’ll get lucky and natural disasters will merely increase gradually (We’re already contemplating category 6 hurricanes) instead of exponentially so that we can adapt until we transition to nuclear fusion and stop pumping CO2 into the atmosphere for good. But I’m a pessimist, I think it’s too late, I think we’re screwed because of corporate greed that has put profits ahead of all life on this planet and spread lies to us for the last 50 years. You’ve clearly bought those lies, hook, line, and sinker.

I know, Soylent Green was set in the year 2022 and we’re still not eating people yet. By the way, the heat may not kill you (see wet bulb temperature) but the worldwide food shortages just might.

Politicians tend to to be self serving narcissists, all call themselves public servants, few live up to the hype, fewer still are true sociopaths. Cheney, McConnell, and Trump come to mind.

I’ve always called the Don a sadistic son of a sociopath. No doubt daddy called him “a disgrace” enough times that it became Donald’s favorite catch all phrase.

Why he hasn’t done this already is as inexplicable as why Merchan hasn’t locked the Don up.

The great jazz pianist Vijay Iyer: “Gen Z has agitated for action on gun control, climate change, reproductive justice, voting rights, trans rights, racial justice, immigrant rights, reducing police violence, and stopping genocide. Elders have failed them at literally every turn.”
