Man, some folks just want to be stupid. You’d think they’d learn. Are the SUVs being sold at least like the Volvo V60? A diesel-hybrid with an official range of 750miles. Here’s an article (in a crappy paper but the hey) that shows a Volvo test drive 2200 with 70 litres of fuel (please note article is British. I US gallon= 3.78 litres; 1 UK gallon = 4.5 litres). If not, bloody stupid.

I’m all for banning SUVs, but for other reasons. It seems like everyone who drives them thinks they own the road.

I own a big gas guzzling SUV AND a hybrid, so which box do I fit in?

    .

And shouldn’t we be trying to use up the gas faster anyway? Not only will it mean that the Ay-rabs will no longer have any power and can go back to fighting over camels and hairy women, but it’ll also force us into other fuels.

    .

    WIN-WIN…

I guess Henry forgot that Obama bailed out two of the big three. Oh well, cons are allergic to facts.

Is Payne at all aware that the increased sales from the “big 3” are NOT the SUVs, but the more fuel efficient models they finally started producing in larger numbers?? Note to Payne: The Hummer is DEAD! While CAFE can be enhanced considerably, within rational engineering ON THE ROAD, NOW in Europe and Asia, we’re still playing “catch up”, slowly. BTW, high performance CAN be efficient.

said “Brits can’t even spell. It’s liter” Why don’t you spell Ioniser properly? ;-) Btw, did you catch my hint on line breaks a while back? I replied to your on-line question. In case you missed it: type in “br” in between a less-than sign and a greater-than-sign.
