Smell? Roasting pig? If that’s the case, there will be charred bones as evidence.

Interesting comment by the fire fighter (Bill?) regarding the automatic fire suppression system and limited supply of the chemical used. I wonder if Professor Mallard would be able to come up with another fire retardant for the system with materials on hand. I’m not entirely clear on what resources Endtown does and does not have.

Things are really uneven technologically there. Can’t use the advanced fire system and the Armstrong water pump won’t put out enough pressure to get water to the fire. Great.

And…what might that smell be? If not the obvious burning flesh, might it be Chloroform? That would be a pretty good accellerant for the fire.

Is it the same sweet smell that was discovered at Terry Taterton’s place? At least we know it’s not candy…

Someone has gotten careless in the CYA act they’re doing. The investigation may have had a monkey wrench thrown into it, but the truth will come out, and in a manner the perpetrators haven’t reckoned with happening.

Wait a minute… If this is the smokehouse, and it’s the residential address of the pig whose severed head was found by the police, could it be that a pig was behind the pig killings? And now the pig running the pig operation is now an ex-pig, bumped off by, say, another pig?

We all think it was smoke house smell, but what if it was something completely different? Like Dragon mention, whatever it was at Terry Tatersons,I don’t remember what that was, or like Dad’s idea of chloroform?

“Security said the automatic system is only for fires we can’t handle” – or fires Security has been ordered not to handle. Right, Jacob?

Don’t forget, the smell may be cooking pig, but the pigs being cooked are human beings. Can we have a little dignity?

The thought just occurred to me… could that smell be the distinctive odor of a fire accelerant burning instead of pig (or whoever was in the dwelling)? Proof, if more is needed, that the fire was deliberately set. Now of course we wait to learn more details of who set it and why.
