So I was just hallucinating when I heard Sen. Schumer denouncing those tax cuts? I’m no fan of the Dems but facts are facts.

Through the primary process, the two party’s candidates for the major elected positions have been fully vetted, funded and supported by big money and corporations. In this way no matter who wins, they are acceptable to the big money folks. The GOP will give them tax breaks and perks, saving them billions, and the Dems will funnel billions to them in the form of government programs. If a candidate thinks they can fight this, they will never make it to the final ballot.

What news do you watch, read? I have heard plenty of Democrats complaining about the tax bill. Democrats may get money from the rich, but they have always represented and worked for the Middle Class. To say otherwise is either a misunderstanding of what is going on or simply a lie.

The Republican ‘tax plan’ is Anti-Revolutionary social engineering plan of the worst kind and against everything the Dems stand for. Republicans are going for a two tier society, with them on top of course.

Ted doesn’t want to see ANY change in the God Awful situation we’re in now by discouraging millennials from voting for Democrats “because they are the same as Republicans”, just like he did with Hillary.

Thanks Ted, for helping to give us the most Facist regime in US history!

… and helping to keep it that way, too!

The Koch brothers gave hundreds of millions to Republicans and a few hundred thousand to Dems.

Billionaire founder of Cambridge Analytica Robert Mercer is a key patron of Breitbart News and Steve Bannon, who until recently was a vice president of Cambridge Analytica.

Cambridge Analytica, the shady data firm that might be a key Trump-Russia link.

Why House investigators think this company might have helped Russia spread fake news.

Pelosi, Schumer & just about every other Democrat have loudly & correctly called this tax bill a massive wealth transfer to large corporations & the uber-wealthy. I don’t believe a single Democrat has voted for it.

Ted’s policy views are complete rubbish. Democrats have at times been guilty of going along with some stupid economic policies, but by & large when they cut taxes, most of it is relief for people who actually work for a living, not the investing class & CEOs.

The Democrats have been helping the Corporations as well as the Middle class, with the Republicans the donors get rich and everyone else gets stiffed.

@ nightgaunt…Actually, no. Dianne makes a great point about the realities of the world. Look, ain’t nothing perfect, but I’ll take the lesser of two evils. Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The best thing to do would be to outlaw private money in the financing of political, campaigns. Or limit contributions to one natural human being having the right to donate, say $2,500, max. No pacs, or super pacs or billionaires would get more than a very limited ability to donate. But better yet, ban the bribery. But since bribery is legal in the US, why unilaterally disarm?

That said, neutrality should not be an option for a citizen. I’d make Election Day a national holiday and make voting mandatory. At the core of my politics is the bare bones fact that there seem to be evil forces arrayed against children and in favor of war. Against truth, in favor of lies. Against patriotism and for treason. Against honest dealings and in favor of blatant conflicts of interest. Rinse, lather, repeat.

But since I have to pick, I hold my nose and do so. We only have two choices and they are not equivalent in the slightest.

@nightgaunt…the thing is, FDR was rich and from one of the most elite, wealthy, and famous families of the time. His election was opposed by those elites, to be sure, but it was within the system. Now, the problem is larger, and a transformative leader would be refreshing and positive. But not a leader who tears down all civil norms, lies, cheats, and is enabled by a visionless plutocratic political party.

The other side IS better. Full stop.
