Max, they are not imaginary. They just want you to return the money they lent you.

This is odd. Since Jan 1 I’ve been getting notifications on the dashboard when people reply to my comments. Now that feature seems to have vanished. Is it that way for everyone, or is it because I don’t pay for Premium?

I didn’t have an imaginary friend as a kid, but I did have an imaginary horse named Brown Sugar.

I only had a couple of good true friends growing up, but I surrounded myself with imaginary friends. Most kids said I was weird; my imaginary friends and I took it as a compliment.

Imaginary friends are the best kind for most of us. They are agreeable to almost anything we devise and never laugh when plans go bad. Of course, they almost never are able to offer better choices of things to do or correct us when we are wrong, but, then, that’s for parents and consciences.

Sure he had an imaginary friend. He imagined his brother was his friend.

Max, both Zack and Heart have single moms. Get yourself into some of the other strips.

Mary Jane and Cracklin’ Rosie are not imaginary, Max, but they’re not friends.

My imaginary friend told me they didn’t exist. I am ignoring him for that…

Here’s a theory: The comic Garfield had a character named Lyman who looked very similar to Uncle Max. A few years into the comic he vanished without explanation. The theory? In the Calvin and Hobbes universe, Max created the Garfield comic and inserted himself into it. His only friends were Jon, Garfield, and Odie. All three were imaginary.

I think people are a bit too over-concerned when it comes to kids.

If any of them dares to be different from any other kid, they are tested for Autism.

Just leave kids alone and let them be themselves.

This comic really does convince me that Uncle Max is really Bill making an appearance in the comic.

That last line is more relatable than I would care to admit.
