As you can see in the last panel, what hasn’t lasted in the Colosseum is precisely the floor! By the way, most of the wreckage you see there wasn’t caused by sloppy building techniques but by popes using the structure as a quarry for building churches.

OK so you can’t really see the bottom of the Colosseum in the strip, but in fact the floor which was laid over the subterranean passageways has long ago vanished.
