I remember when Hilary referred to the “suckers” as the “deplorable s”. Then, we thought that comment ill thought out, but now, she may have understated the case. Too many of the Trump supporters still come across as, well, dim witted, even stupid. Maybe, instead of opposing an intelligence test by the right as a means of keeping Democrats from voting, we ought to support such a test to keep Republicans from voting. From where I sit, Democrats would come out ahead.
Your guy, Varvel, your guy. You guys tired of winning yet? Mental illness is never pretty, but here it is on full display. Throw in the ADD, and voila…absolutely crazier than a hoot owl. This is the only lens that follows the evidence.
Racists, 1%ers and liars rush to stop the resident from blabbing because he is a bigger racist, wealth apologist and liar than the rest of them put together. Varvel doesn’t want Trump speaking because he’ll have to make up another apologist toon about why Trump is still okay.
You can read it between the lines as to what they mention and what they don’t. The main problem is that the Orange Führer-n-Chief blabbed it all. They must keep it on the down low. No one talks about White (only) Nationalism club. And he is a blabber of the first magnitude. He is ruining their secret deals.
@night-gaunt…those who have had direct experience with mental illness know how it works. Every sick individual is sick in their own way, but clusters of observable behaviors that fall a couple of standard deviations from the mean are noteworthy because of their relative commonality. Two sorts of people know this intimately—and it is hard to grasp for others.
The first sort of person who gets mental illness is in the mental health professions. From orderlies to psychiatrists, therapists to psychologists…they have encountered the cluster of behaviors trump exhibits. Many are hesitant to declare trump insane because of their sensitivities to how their own prejudices might color the diagnosis. They would also want personal interaction over time to develop their diagnosis. All quite ethical. In their hearts, they know he’s nuts, though. That’s why many of them have spoken out. They feel a civic obligation to do so.
The other sort of person who gets it is the person who has a relative or a work-related person who exhibits trump’s behaviors. I had a brother (now dead) who was insane in a similar fashion to trump. I also worked for about six weeks for a malignant narcissist with ADD. He was ultimately convicted of fraud and went to prison. It was the longest six weeks of my life.
It is true that some of trumpy’s behavior “might” be explained by age-related dementia. But the man is ill. The sooner we all recognize this, the sooner we will realize the depth of his incapacity, the compulsive behavior, the inability to tell the truth, the grandiosity, the pathetic attempt to declare how popular he is, and so forth. Mental illness is the only lens that makes sense.
If you normalize this man’s behavior, you are normalizing mental illness. If you treat him as sane, you will be continually surprised that he is such a fool. If you think he can “grow” in stature, or change, be prepared to be disappointed.

Many are not yet use to somone in power telling it like it is."

Another Trump Disciple who has forgotten that Trump’s statements are to be taken seriously. But not literally.
So Trump is always expected to lie and never fails to meet those expectations.
.
Of course, the more Trumps lies, the more His Disciples display enthusiasm.
