With two opposing rather than cooperating parties, this is probably the best they can do while remaining faithful to party over country loyalty. The mandate - an essential part of insurance itself - cannot be eliminated in a viable plan. The mandate was a part of the Heritage Foundations proposal for healthcare.

I would like to ask each of our people that we hired to run our country for us, if they are proud of what is going on while they are on a lie detector.

If anything, this cartoon is an understatement. Consider how much the growth and damage happens later in the timeline.

Once again, Republicans prove the maxim that they believe government doesn’t work, then prove it once elected.

I honestly don’t understand the anguish over mandated health insurance. If you own a house, the bank insists you have fire insurance. If you have a car, the state in which you live insists you have collision insurance. Of fire, auto, and health insurance which one are you most likely to need?

I can’t tell whether that’s an alien or a miniature Republican on Uncle Sam’s face…And the same is true, regarding what’s emerging from his torso…

The Republicans are already lining up for their face huggers, the Democrats refuse to admit there are benefits. I haven’t seen them yet, but I’m not in the 1%.
