    In her cleverness, Marigold may also mean that apples are all different, some sweeter than others, some crunchier, etc. And some unicorns may be oranges instead.

    Horses can vary a lot in temperament, disposition and personality, I would expect unicorns to be diverse as well.And we ALL like apples.
