I used to work for a (cheap) furniture company that financed loans, and we advertised that no one is turned down. The manager would tell me-“we don’t turn anyone down-we let them turn themselves down” i.e. If your credit is bad, then we need 90% down, and the balance on a 90 day contract. We don’t say no-you say no. He would tell me “we’re not a furniture company-we’re a finance company.” We also sold appliances, large and small, from refrigerators and microwaves down to toasters and hair dryers.
